On the fourth day of Navratri, I prepared a simple yet flavourful thali that combines traditional tastes with a festive twist. The main dish was Sama Steamed Rice, a vrat-friendly substitute for regular rice, offering a light and fluffy texture that pairs perfectly with satvik curries.
To complement the rice, I made Phalahari Kadhi, a light and tangy yogurt-based curry thickened with vrat-approved flours and gently seasoned with mild spices, creating a comforting and soothing dish that’s both delicious and easy to digest.
For a touch of sweetness and freshness, I prepared a Pomegranate and Apple Delight—a refreshing and naturally sweet fruit blend, which not only adds a pop of colour to the thali but also provides a burst of flavours and essential nutrients. This simple and nourishing combination makes the day of Navratri a wholesome and joyous feast.
Let’s indulge in the authentic Thali, which is light on stomach.
