The last four days of Navratri is the biggest festival, ‘Kalratri’ is the seventh form of Navdurga, worshiped on the seventh day of Navratri.
Navratri is our favorite time of the year and all of us love to indulge into our traditional celebration. Let’s continue our gastronomy journey of Navratri with ‘Phalahari Thali day 7′, consists of ‘Gajar(Carrot) ka Halwa’,
Ingredients:
- Carrot: 500 gm
- Khoa/condensed milk: 200 gm
- Sugar: 100 gm
- Ghee: 50 gm
- Green cardamom: 6 no.
- Cashew nut: 50 gm
- Almond: 10 no. (Chopped)
Preparation:
- Grate the carrots with the help of grater/food processor, keep aside.
Method :
- Heat 2 teaspoon of ghee in a pan; put 2 crushed cardamom in the ghee.
- Add grated carrot and cover the lid; keep stirring every 5 minutes (about 15-17 minutes); when carrot is done as water is evaporated, add sugar, Khoa and cook about 5-7 minutes.
- Add cashew nut and left over ghee; fry till carrots are reddish brown.
- Garnish with cardamom powder and almond.
- Delicious ‘Gajar ka Halwa’ ready to serve.
