Enjoy the product of Bihar to prepare great dish with Paneer; a delicious vegetarian option. Protein is abundant in fox nut, thus it is wise to include fox nut in the diet which brings delicacy as well.
Fox-nut detoxifies the spleen; it helps the spleen to function well. It is a good for strengthen your nails and hair. It is a good source of phosphorus, manganese, niacin and vitamin B6.
Paneer too is loaded with protein; it is excellent for skin glow!
Ingredients:
- Paneer (Cottage cheese): 200 gm
- Makhane: 50 gm
- Ghee: 100 gm
- Ginger:1 teaspoon (paste)
- Onion: 1 no. (Medium size)
- Tomato: 1 no. (Large)
- Fresh cream: 2 tablespoon
- Fresh coriander leaf: 2 tablespoon
- Garam masala: 1 teaspoon
- chilli powder: 1 teaspoon
- Coriander powder: 1 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder: half teaspoon
- Cumin: half teaspoon
- Clove: 3 no.
- Cinnamon: 2 inch stick
- Bay leaf: 2 no.
- Salt: one and half teaspoon
Preparation:
- Cut the Paneer into 1 inch length and half inch wide pieces.
- Cut the onion and tomato; grind to fine paste.
- Take a fry pan. Put 3 tablespoon of ghee, add Makhane keep stirring and fry on medium low flame for couple of minutes or till light brown. Keep aside.
- Fry Paneer with 1 tablespoon of ghee. Fry light (Do not fry for longer period, it should not change the colour)
Method:
- Take a fry pan. Put ghee, add clove, cumin seed, bay leaf and cinnamon, Sputter it for few seconds.
- Add onion and tomato paste along with ginger paste stir fry on medium low flame (about 5-6 minutes) or until ghee separates from masala.
- Add chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder and salt, stir the masala; add fresh cream, keep frying about 2-3 minutes.
- Add one cup of water; let it boil for about couple of minutes.
- Add fried Makhane; continue to cook for couple of minutes.
- Add Paneer, continue to cook for couple of minutes, put off the flame.
- Add Garam masala, cover the lid; decorate with chopped coriander leaf.
- serve hot with fluffy Poori or Roti.
