Ingredients:
- suran/oal/jimikand (elephant yam): 250 gm
- Green chilli: 3-4 no.
- Salt: 1 teaspoon
- Ajwain(Carrom seed): 1/4 teaspoon
- Kalonji(Nigella sativa): 1/4 teaspoon
- Turmeric powder: one teaspoon
- Ginger: 1 teaspoon (paste or pieces)
- Garlic: 1 teaspoon (paste or pieces)
- Mustard oil/olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Mango powder: half teaspoon (optional)
Preparation:
- Clean and peel off the Suran, wash thoroughly; chop them into big slices.
- Boil it till done. (You can boil it in open vassal, pressure cooker or microwave).
- Drain the water, mash it with hand or masher properly and keep aside.
- Chop green chilli and keep aside.
Method:
- In a bowl put all ingredients with mashed suran.
- Mix well. Better you mix, testier it will be.
- Now, suran chutney is ready to serve with any Indian bread or side dish..
