Fortified with iron, milk, fruits and dry fruits the ‘dreamy fruits salad’ will help to fulfill the nutritional requirement of your children. It is equally good for grownup.

Ingredients:

  • Kiwi: 1no.
  • Beet root: ½ no. (Boiled)
  • Apple: ½ no.
  • Pomegranate: ½ no.
  • Grapes: 10-15 no.
  • California Plum: 1 no.
  • Banana: 1 no.
  • Seasonal fruits: as per your taste bud
  • Condense milk: 50ml
  • Green cardamom powder: ½ teaspoon
  • Cashew nut: 6-7 no.
  • Walnut: 3-4 no.
  • Rasin: 15-20 no.

Preparation:

  1. Chop all fruits and dry fruits into small pieces

Method:

  1. Take a mixing bowl put all chopped fruits and dry fruits along with cardamom powder and condense milk, mix well and decorate with sliced kiwi and walnut. Dreamy fruit dessert is ready to serve. Serve fresh (immediately).

Phalahari Thali day 9

Here navratri is coming to near end, tomorrow is very auspicious day, the day of worship “Siddhidatri” form of nav durga and the occasion of “kanya poojan”. After fasting of navratri devotees offer the feast to nine girls, who symbolize the nav durga.

On this occasion, enjoy the navmi Prasadam, sukha kala chana (dry Bengal gram), poori, and Sooji ka halwa. Phalahari Thali day 9 consists of:

Dry kala chana (Bengal gram)

Ingredients:

  • Kala chana (Bengal gram): 100gm.
  • Chili powder: half teaspoon
  • Coriander powder: half teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder: half teaspoon
  • Dry mango powder: half teaspoon
  • Mustard: ½ teaspoon
  • Ginger: 2” pieces
  • Mustard oil/cooking oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Sendha namak (Rock Salt): ½ teaspoon (as per taste)
  • Water: one and half cup

Preparation:

  1. Soak Kala chana (Bengal gram) overnight.
  2. Peel off ginger and grind it, keep aside.

Method:

  1. Cook kala chana along with salt and ginger paste and water in the pressure cooker (5 -6 minutes after it comes to full pressure).
  2. Strain water with the help of strainer, if left. Keep aside.
  3. Take fry pan, put oil. When smoke starts coming, add mustard, let it sputter for few seconds.
  4. Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and chili powder and boiled kala chana.
  5. Stir fry for couple of minutes, add dry mango power and cook for a minute on low flame, put off the flame decorate with coriander leaves and serve with poori and Sooji halwa on the occasion of navratri.

Phalahari Thali day 8

Fasting in navratri days very common in north India, navratri is celebrated in different ways across the country, in Gujarat it is celebrated with Garva dance, performed all nine nights. These days Garva is not limited to Gujarat only, more or less it is popular not all over India but all over world too.

Mahagauri is worshipped on the 8th day of navratri. It is said to be Gauri has the power to fulfill all the desire of her devotees. Let’s come to phalahari Thali and think of singhare ke aate ka halwa, phalahari Bhel, carrot and almond soup.

Dry fruits Bhel (phalahari dry fruits Bhel)

Ingredients:

  • Makhan (fox nut): 50 gm
  • Cashew nut: 50 gm.
  • Almond: 50 gm
  • Peanut: 50 gm.
  • Paneer: 100 gm.
  • Potato: 50-100 gm.
  • Green chili: 2 no.
  • Black pepper: 10-12 no.
  • Sendha namak (rock salt): 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh coriander leaves: 20 gm.
  • Lemon: 1 no.
  • Ghee (clarified butter): 4 tablespoon

Preparation:

  1. Discard the seed of green chili, chop green chili and fresh coriander leaves, and keep aside.
  2. Boil the potato, peel off and chop into small pieces, keep aside.
  3. Chop paneer into small cubes, keep aside.
  4. Roughly crush the black pepper into motor and pestle. Keep aside.

Method:

  1. Take heavy bottom pan, put ghee in it, and stir fry cashew nut almond and peanut one by one; on medium low flame till gets light brown in color. Keep them separately.
  2. Add makhan in the left out ghee and fry on medium low flame till gets crisp and slightly change the color. Keep aside.
  3. Take a mixing bowl; put all ingredients along with salt and black pepper and add lemon juice just before serving.
  4. Dry fruits Bhel (phalahari dry fruits Bhel) is ready to serve.
