Apples are delicious, during the apple season high quality apples one can get at low price. I would like to upload and talk about this juicy, crunchy and wonderful fruit and their recipes. How it can be consumed in different ways:

Apple trees originally grew in Asia and Europe about thousand years ago, now it is grown all over the world. Different types of apples are grown as per demand i.e. cooking purpose, raw eating purpose and cinder producing purpose.

Asian apples are extremely sweet, especially in Indian sub continent. The skin of ripen apples are red, pink, green, yellow, golden and rusted color. They also differ in size significantly. Japanese consumers prefer the large size apples.

Apples have religious and mythological significance in many cultures i.e. apples are eaten with honey at the Jewish new year to symbolize a very sweet new year.

Eat apples whatever the way you like, it gives advance nutrition. Eating them whole gives maximum benefits, but cooked dishes of apple can be fun while cooking and serving as well as tasty too.

Aloe beet berry juice

Every morning my husband plucks a leaf of aloe Vera from kitchen garden and prepares juice with gooseberry and a small chunk of beetroot and we have it with empty stomach after yoga practice.

This juice enhances the memory and it is complete tonic for one day, regularly consuming this juice prevents stomach infection and strengthens the muscles and bones. This juice eases stomach problem, maintain vitamin c and increases hemoglobin.

Ingredients:

  • Amla (goose berry): 2no. (Middle size of amla)
  • Aloe Vera leaf: 1no.
  • Beet root: ¼ no. (Small)
  • Water: 200 ml

Preparation:

  1. Method to separate Aloe Vera pulp:
  2. Cut Aloe Vera leaf into 4-5 inch long pieces; leave it for 5- 10minutes, the bitter yellow liquid will come out.
  3. Discard thin layer from both end having yellow liquid, cut longitudinally into 2-3 pieces. See as photos given here.
  4. Peel off the skin of aloe Vera as photo. Aloe Vera pulp is ready, Keep aside.
  5. Peel, chop and boil/microwave beet root, Keep aside.
  6. Grate amla and boiled beet root, keep aside.

Method:

  1. Put all ingredients into grinding jar, make fine paste, Take a bowl, keep soup strainer over it.
  2. Pour ground paste, and sieve, add about equal quantity of water to rinses the residue properly.
  3. Aloe beet berry juice is ready; discard the residue left on the Strainer.
  4. Transfer these juices into glasses.
  5. We take as it is. You can add honey/salt, as you wish.

Kiwi cucumber shake

Fresh and healthy food is one complete solution to a child’s magical growth in this world…

It will enhance his/her mental and physical well being. Unfortunately, the child doesn’t know the importance of this; so its parent’s responsibility that they care about healthy growth of their children.

So I would like to share one of the recipes, for sure children will enjoy a lot… ‘Kiwi cucumber shakes’

Ingredients:

  • Kiwi: 1no.
  • Cucumber: 1no. (Small size)
  • Sugar/honey: 3 tablespoon
  • Milk (cold): 300-400 ml
  • Ice cube: optional

Preparation:

  1. Peel off kiwi and chop into small pieces, chop cucumber too, keep aside.

Method:

  1. Take a grinding jar; put chopped kiwi, cucumber and sugar grind to full speed for 30 seconds along with half cup of milk.
  2. Add remaining milk and ice cubes; grind it till it become smooth.
  3. Healthy kiwi cucumber shake is ready for everyone.
  4. While serving in tumbler garnish with kiwi slice.

Raw mango jaljeera (kairi ka jal-jeera)

Get prepared to have refreshing tall glass of ‘raw mango jaljeera’ for a scorching day ahead. A simple inspirational drink that is good for everyone even diabetes people. It will keep you cool and therefore help you to work hard even in exhausting summer. It reduces the stress and heat.

Ingredients:

  • Raw mango (kairi):250gm.
  • Mint leaf: 50 gm.
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon
  • Rock salt: ½ teaspoon
  • Kala namak (black salt): ½ teaspoon
  • Roasted cumin powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Ginger powder: ½ teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder: ½ teaspoon
  • Piper Longum/Long Pepper:2-3 no.

Preparation:

  • Discard the peel and seed, chop the mango, boil it and allow to cool, blend the pulp on lower speed add all ingredients and again blend for few seconds. You can store this thick puree in a glass bottle and store for a week into refrigerator or can be used fresh.

Method:

  1. Add 2 cups of chilled water and 2 tablespoon (as per your taste) of the pure. Pour into tall glasses with ice cube. You may add salted boondi and decorate with mint leaves.
  2. You can add and reduce chilled water as per your taste. Serve immediately.
