Apple Lassi (curd/yogurt based drink)

Daily intake of apple boosts metabolism, improves health of heart, bones, teeth and skin. It helps to relieve constipation and diarrhea too; above all it boosts brain power. This wonderful fruit contains ‘vitamin B Complex’, beta carotene and many more vitamins and minerals.

 Whatever the way you like, it gives advance nutrition. Eating them whole gives maximum benefits, but sometimes it is fun, and you can enjoy preparing Apple Lassi for your family; they will be delighted and happy to have it.

Apples are the symbol of youthfulness and fertility ever since. That’s why once upon a time there used a slogan…“An apple a day, do not doctors to pay.”

Ingredients:

  • Apple: 1 no.
  • Sugar/honey: 2 tablespoon
  • Curd: 200 ml
  • Cinnamon powder: ¼ teaspoon
  • Ice cubes: few

Preparation:

  1. Core and cut the apple, Keep aside.

Method:

  1. Take a grinding jar, put chopped apple with all ingredients, and grind it fine on full speed.
  2. Apple Lassi is ready to be served, while serving in tumbler garnish with cinnamon stick and powder.….

Apple Shake

Apple trees originally grew in Asia and Europe only; about thousand years ago, now it is grown all over the world. Different types of apples are grown as per demand i.e. cooking purpose, raw eating purpose and cinder producing purpose.

Asian apples are extremely sweet, especially in Indian sub continent. The skin of ripen apples are red, pink, green, yellow, golden and rusted color. They also differ in size significantly. Japanese consumers prefer the large size apples.

Whatever the way you like, it gives high value nutrition. Eating them whole gives maximum benefits, but sometimes it is fun and you can enjoy preparing ‘Apple shakes’ for your family and they will be delighted and happy to have it. The shake is convenient for toddler to consume.

Ingredients:

  • Apple: 1 no. (Medium size)
  • Sugar/honey: 1-2 tablespoon (as per your taste)
  • Milk: 400-450 ml
  • Cinnamon powder: ¼ teaspoon
  • Ice cubes: optional

Preparation:

  1. Core, peel and chop the apple, Keep aside.

Method:

  1. Take a grinding jar; put chopped apple along with 100 ml. of milk and sugar, blend it on medium speed till it become smooth, add remaining milk and ice cubes and blend them on high speed, Apple milk shake is ready.
  2. While serving in tumbler drizzle with honey and dust the cinnamon powder over it.

Apple juice

Apples are delicious, during the apple season high quality apples one can get at low price. I would like to upload and talk about this juicy, crunchy and wonderful fruit and their recipes. How it can be consumed in different ways:

This is the most favorite fruit among the health conscious and fitness enthusiast, who definitely include apples in their diets. Whatever the way you like, it gives advance nutrition. Eating them whole gives maximum benefits, but sometimes it is fun and you can enjoy preparing juice for your family and they will be delighted and happy to have it.

Drink and enjoy…

Ingredients:

  • Apple: 1 no. (Big)
  • Lemon: ¼ no. (Medium) as per taste
  • Honey: 1 tablespoon (as per taste)
  • Ice cubes: as per requirement

Preparation:

  1. Core and cut the apple.

Method:

  1. Put apple pieces into blending jar along with ice cubes/ ½ glass of water, blend it on high speed for a minute, sieve the mixture and collect the juice in a jar.
  2. Add lemon juice & honey. Apple juice is ready to be served.

Avocado salted lassi (avocado Mattha/Chhachh)

Curd is good for health especially in summer days: keeping this in the mind prepare the summer friendly avocado salted drink, it is an excellent refreshing drink for rowdy summer.

This is a low calorie breakfast without compromising nutrition. Only a glass of avocado lassi provides full nutrition for fitness freaks as a breakfast; blending with curd improves digestion too.

Easy to prepare, just blend all ingredients together and drink is ready, sprinkle roasted cumin powder on the top of long glass.

Ingredients:

  • Avocado: 1 no. (Medium size)
  • Curd: 100 ml
  • Water: 200 ml
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon
  • Black salt (kala namak): 2 pinch
  • Roasted cumin powder: ¼ teaspoon
  • Ice cubes: optional

Preparation:

  1. Cut the avocado into two halves: discard the seed, scoop out the pulp with help of spoon. Keep aside.

Method:

  1. Take a grinding jar; put scooped Avocado along with curd, water and salt blend it on medium speed till it become smooth, add ice cubes and blend them on high speed, Avocado salted lassi is ready.
  2. While serving in tumbler garnish with Avocado slices, cumin powder and black salt as in the photo.

Avocado sweet lassi

We went to visit my friend’s place in Japan and checked into a restaurant for lunch: there was an option of avocado sweet lassi in the menu card. OMG it was so smooth and creamy in texture, delicious, satisfying and filling. That day onward this is our favorite drink to serve for friends and family.

It can be stored in refrigerator for about an hour or two, but it is best to consume immediately.

Ingredients:

  • Avocado: 1 no. (Medium size)
  • Sugar/honey: 2-3 tablespoon (as per your taste)
  • Milk: half cup
  • Curd: 1 cup
  • Green cardamom: 2-3 no. (Optional)
  • Saffron: 1 pinch
  • Ice cubes: optional

Preparation:

  1. Cut the avocado into two halves: discard the seed, scoop out the pulp with help of spoon (before scooping keeps few beautiful slices for garnishing). Keep aside.

Method:

  1. Take a grinding jar; put scooped Avocado along with curd, milk, green cardamom and sugar, blend it on medium speed till it become smooth, add saffron and ice cubes and blend them on high speed, Avocado lassi  is ready.
  2. While serving in tumbler garnish with Avocado slices and saffron thread, as in the photo.
